The vibrations generated in a drum demand the highest standards of quality regarding material and workmanship. These standards are more than met by the drums of the series MT 2000. The resonator body of the drum (the shell) is made of laminnated carbon (carbon fibres) whose strength almost equals that of steel. Denting the shell is nearly impossible.
Carbon's excellent fatique life (damping) and the lack of an abutting seam prevent the usual “ringing" sound and unwanted overtones of conventional drums. Sound purity and precision are therefore unbeatable.
The drum weighs far less than one made of brass and is about half a kilogramme lighter than an aluminium drum, even though the shell is as strong as that of any metal drum.
